The Honda Brio, another hope for Honda in emerging markets

India and China are the two countries where much of the hopes of several brands are concentrated. With a market of millions of new potential customers, the opportunities to sell cars are right at the surface. Small cars, not very expensive, with sufficient profit margin and a low manufacturing cost. A perfect business. And along this same line is where the Honda Brio comes in.
The Honda Brio (internally called 2CV; hopefully Citroën won’t take offense) is a city car that will come in a three-cylinder configuration, with the same 1.2-litre engine as the Honda Jazz.
Not much more to say, except that it will face stiff competition from several almost identical Japanese cars, from Nissan and Toyota, and that it could also have a five-door version if the market receives it favourably. The three-door version would be ready next year.
As for photos, the only thing available on the Brio is a render that doesn’t say much, nor does it make the little one look very impressive, apart from a very pronounced side line. Not a word about whether it will reach any other country outside Asia, but in these cases you never know.
