Honda HR-V Hybrid Cars ECO SUV
The Honda HR-V gets muscle with Mugen, the tuner par excellence for Honda
Japanese tuner Mugen has decided to play with one of the latest creations from Honda, the 2021 Honda HR-V, which can now sport a sportier look.
Contemporary car modifications shouldn’t surprise us at this point, especially considering the SUV supremacy we’re living through today. With all this in mind, it’s only natural that Mugen, one of Japan’s best-known tuners for working with Honda products, has decided to play with the new Honda HR-V. The thing is, this creation may go somewhat against the goal the Japanese brand had in mind when conceiving its new SUV, but the truth is it’s ideal for anyone who wants to give it a spicier touch.
And so we find ourselves with an aesthetic package that breaks with the philosophy of Noiseless Design that Honda has preached with the new HR-V. Mugen understands neither calm nor cleanliness; it only wants to assert its signature as it always has: with eye-catching elements and generous doses of sportiness, and the HR-V prepared by them is irrefutable proof.
The design kit from the Japanese tuner calls for a specific grille, more aggressive bumpers and a new style of side skirts. Bespoke alloy wheels finished in 18 inches also stand out, along with a rear end where the cherry on top sits: a pronounced spoiler flanked by a double exhaust outlet that promises to improve the sound of a hybrid system where performance is not a priority.

Inside, the changes are more modest, though they won’t go unnoticed. Here Mugen only opts for specific floor mats in red or blue and the option of a two-tone upholstery to create contrast with the body paint.
No mechanical changes are expected, so that, despite its more daring looks, the Honda HR-V continues to fulfil its role as a hybrid car. That way, we’ll still find a 1.5-litre petrol engine with an Atkinson cycle capable of producing 131 CV and 253 Nm of torque thanks to the support of two electric motors.

Be that as it may, anyone who wants to give their Honda HR-V a more daring touch can always turn to Mugen, a tuner that doesn’t mind what powertrains sit under the hood of the Japanese brand’s models. Let’s be honest: you may like it more or less, but this Mugen creation won’t go unnoticed wherever it goes.
