The Hyundai IONIQ 6 receives a much more modern design from Hyundai

The new IONIQ 6 now has an even more attractive and daring look, although its technical specifications remain unchanged from its predecessor.

Alongside the new Nexo with hydrogen fuel cell propulsion, about which we have already talked in a previous post, Hyundai unveiled the IONIQ 6 facelift in the South Korean capital during the Seoul Mobility Show , almost three years after this sporty electric saloon hit the market.

The changes you will find on this new IONIQ 6 are mainly visual, both on the exterior and the interior, keeping the same technical specifications as its predecessor. On the outside, the IONIQ 6 now has slightly more streamlined proportions, with modifications that mainly affect the front and rear of the vehicle.

At the front, the light units have been changed, following the current trend of separating the daytime running lights from the low and high beams. At the rear, the distinctive double spoiler of its predecessor has been removed, replaced by a new spoiler that gives the vehicle a sportier look and reinforces its aerodynamic appearance. In addition, the rear lights have also been redesigned and now feature separate reversing lights.

The IONIQ 6 is now even better

Inside, the adjustments aim to elevate the sense of quality and comfort. The steering wheel has a redesigned look, and the doors feature updated panels that, according to Hyundai, convey greater sophistication. The centre console has been reorganised to make it more practical, and the climate control screen has been enlarged, making it easier to use and improving the experience on board.

During the presentation of the new IONIQ 6, Simon Loasby, Senior Vice President and Head of the Design Centre at Hyundai, explained that with this new generation the IONIQ 6 has evolved, moving from being an “electrified Streamliner” to a model better suited to the different needs of the brand’s customers, with the various versions now available.

Watch out for the IONIQ 6 N!

Among these new versions, is the new IONIQ 6 N, which will share some of the features of the IONIQ 5 N we already know, but applied to a larger saloon with a more sporty design. Notable among them are the three-spoke competition steering wheel and the ability to simulate a manual gear change, although the latter has not yet been confirmed.

With this IONIQ 6 facelift, Hyundai reaffirms its commitment to the innovative design of its most recent vehicles, seeking to position this electric saloon with a clear sporty character as one of the most attractive options among its competitors in a constantly evolving market.
