The Hyundai Staria turns into a camper van this spectacular

It has not been long since the Hyundai Staria arrived among us, but there are already variants that turn it into a more than interesting vehicle. For the time being, the Hyundai Staria Lounge Camper has only been sold in North Korea, but it is such an attractive version that we would not be surprised if it soon reached other markets around the world.

This variant is designed to allow you to enjoy your free time and is based on the highest trim level in the range. It has all the comforts and features that make it a pleasant leisure vehicle with the comfort one looks for in one. The electrically raised roof and the side awning can turn it into a comfortable camping vehicle.

Although it has a slightly greater height, of 2,095 millimetres, it remains ideal for entering most car parks, because it stays below the maximum height offered by car parks. It is available in two variants, the Camper 11, with 11 seats, and the Camper 4, which offers only four seats.

In both cases, the rear seats can be folded down to create a bed for two adults, while there is an additional mattress for the roof tent. On the exterior you can choose between pearl white or pearl black, while in the interior, the brown upholstery of the seats offers a sense of calm and comfort. The contrast with the black and white cabin colours is very attractive to users.

The 11-seat version offers beds for everyone, but the four-occupant version includes a kitchen, as well as very practical storage spaces. It has a 36-litre fridge, a sink, a 70-litre clean water tank and a 40-litre waste water tank. A shower with a detachable head, a folding table and covered storage compartments complete the equipment.

All the van’s functions are controlled through a 12.1-inch screen, and there are curtains to preserve privacy inside. On the outside there is a folding awning, which features LED lighting, and a folding outdoor table with two chairs. The rear door is covered with a mosquito net, and electronic devices can be connected to a power source.

The Hyundai Staria features a 2.2-litre turbodiesel engine producing 174 CV and a maximum torque of 430 Nm. The eight-speed gearbox sends torque to the front wheels, while an all-wheel-drive version is available as an option.

It remains to be seen whether this variant is successful enough in the local market to allow it to reach other markets. It would be good to have this version at Spanish dealerships, although its price could be above 50,000 euros.
