The Jaguar I-Pace, the British brand's electric SUV, ready to go out and play

We are waiting for the launch of the Jaguar I-Pace, the electric SUV that Jaguar wants to put up against the Tesla Model X, and it still seems very, very distant. But the British brand has just announced that the car has already completed the entire testing phase with the 200 prototypes that have been driven on tracks and streets in various locations across several countries. This means we are very close to being able to visit the dealership and reserve our I-Pace.

Apparently, only a few months remain before the final version of this electric model reaches dealerships and the first units begin to be delivered. As I have mentioned, some 200 cars have been tested under different conditions over about two million kilometres and eleven thousand hours of testing of the components that make up the car.

The director of Jaguar Vehicle Line, Ian Hoban, has assured that everything is ready for it to enter production and that the tests have produced good results regarding range, although they have not clarified what this figure is. The executive also states that charging from 0 to 80% takes “a short break“, without giving any figure either, but well, let’s take his word for it, because the technology is advanced enough to achieve this.

In fact, a test has been carried out, to which these images we found on Carscoops correspond, taking us along with the Jaguar I-Pace on a route that led it along Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles and Morro Bay in San Luis Obispo, a journey roughly 320 kilometres long on a single charge.

So we still have to wait until March 2018, which is when Jaguar will begin announcing all the features of this model and its final price, and reservations will be able to start at dealerships across Europe and the rest of the world.
