The Jaguar XF Sportbreak and its SpeedBoat Concept

Jaguar, in collaboration with a yacht company, has developed a luxury speedboat prototype accompanied by its XF Sportbrake.

More and more brands are joining the trend of designing, and even manufacturing in the future, a boat to match one of their most successful models. The latest to join the league has been the British Jaguar , in the hands of its XF SportBreak, its most luxurious estate.

The aquatic creation has been named SpeedBoat Concept and aims to offer the same glamour and class that has always characterised the brand’s vehicles, all combined with a touch of sportiness. To carry out the project, Jaguar needed to team up with a major luxury yacht firm (‘Ivan Erdevicki Naval Architecture & Yacht Design) together with a bespoke design and projects company (Seventy Seven Design).

The sports speedboat has two small front seats and a larger rear one. The hull is made of a gelcoat layer of fibreglass to lighten the overall weight, with the improvements that this entails. The upper part of the deck features natural teak wood, which has characterised yachts over the years.

The designers claim that they drew inspiration from the Jaguar D-Type design to create the SpeedBoat Concept, something that is really impossible to see on a boat of this kind. A nod to the brand has also been made with fuel caps similar to those of the first Jaguar XJ that came onto the market.

The prototype includes both the estate and a trailer for transporting a future debora mares.
