The Karma SC2 will be an elegant coupé with gull-wing doors
The new Karma SC2 will be presented at the Los Angeles Auto Show and will arrive as an elegant coupé with gull-wing doors.

With the closing of SEMA, the spotlight is shifting to the Los Angeles Auto Show. Karma Automotive does not want to miss the opportunity and will have a fairly considerable presence at this year’s event. The company has released the first teaser image of its new concept.
It is called Karma SC2 and will be unveiled on November 19. It will also be presented as an “evolution” of the Karma SC1 Vision concept that debuted earlier this year.

For now, the carmaker is keeping the details secret, but the published teaser image suggests the model will be an elegant coupé with gull-wing doors
It will also feature digital rear-view mirrors, a curvaceous body and a small boot. The roof also looks up-to-date, like a spoiler, and at the rear you can see a full-width LED light bar.

Karma SC2, this is the new coupé that will be presented in Los Angeles
Little more is known about the concept, but we can say that the Karma SC1 was a two-seat roadster that hinted at the company’s future design language. This model was also pure electric. The new Karma SC2 will use the same powertrain.
Besides presenting the new concept revealed through a teaser image, the luxury electric car brand will also present the Karma Revero GTS. This model has been announced as a “high-performance version” of the standard Karma Revero GT.
The company has not wanted to give more details, but earlier reports have claimed that the Karma Revero GTS will have an improved interior, special wheels and a “hotter” powertrain. The latter should allow the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds. Will it achieve it?

Although there is not much detailed information either, we can say that the standard Karma Revero GT mounts two electric motors that produce a combined output of 543 CV and 1,491 Nm of maximum torque. These figures allow the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, before reaching an electronically limited top speed of 201 km/h.
The type of motors Karma Automotive uses run on a lithium-ion battery with a 28 kWh capacity, which allows the car to travel up to 129 kilometres on a single charge. As this is not a very high figure in terms of range, the Karma Revero is also equipped with a 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine of German origin, BMW, which acts as a generator and extends the overall range up to 579 kilometres.
Dr. Lance Zhow, CEO of Karma Automotive, has stated that “Karma is evolving beyond a simple carmaker to become a technology-driven brand focused equally on being important in engineering, design, customisation resources and a high-tech incubator for others”.

He also added that Karma is “the only company that creates and builds cars in southern California today; Karma’s presence at these two important automotive forums reinforces our commitment and our investment in the region“.
