The Kia Ceed more versatile than ever with the arrival of an imminent crossover variant

Nowadays many models and vehicles make up a single brand, so it is only natural to see how these brands rely on the same platform as a starting point for the different versions that can derive from a single car. In this situation is Kia, a company that has wanted to shape the new Ceed as much as possible, a model that arrives ready to meet all the needs of its customers. To fulfil that task, the Korean firm has just announced -and hinted at- the future crossover variant of its quintessential compact, a car designed to compete against the great German titans.

At first, there are few details we can see, since Kia has only provided us with a teaser of this highly anticipated vehicle. With the arrival of the new Ceed it was announced that several body styles would be adapted from it, something that once again confirms for us Kia with the announcement of this version that will manage to appeal to so many people.

For now, three body styles are being sold with the new Ceed, among which we should highlight the compact, ProCeed and Ceed Tourer. Now, the Korean firm has wanted to widen the range of options with this new crossover that will seek to go head to head with models such as the Volkswagen Tiguan, SEAT Ateca and Skoda Karoq, among others, with the aim of further intensifying that rivalry and offering itself as an option whose value for money is hard to beat.

As is usual with this type of photograph, there are few details that can be made out. To further heighten that effect, Kia has only let us in on a sketch in which the main features of this new Ceed SUV can be distinguished. The first thing that catches our attention is its rounded lines, which anticipate a smooth and fluid design.

At the same time, we should also highlight two rear lights that present a more elongated and slender design than on the other body styles. This pattern complements the overall look of the car perfectly, which shows certain traits more typical of a coupé than of a crossover. In this way, Kia will offer a vehicle that is aesthetically far more dynamic and elegant that aims to break with what has been established to date.

It will be later this year when the Korean firm reveals for the first time the name that will represent the crossover version of the Ceed, a vehicle that will very likely also carry that designation. For now, launch dates are unknown, but we can expect that it will be at the end of 2019 when Kia proceeds to present its latest offspring in grand style.
