The Kia Sportage welcomes the Black Edition trim once again
Kia expands the Sportage range with the arrival of the Black Edition trim, in which black takes centre stage, especially on the exterior

If there is one model that Kia holds in special regard, it is the Sportage, and it is no wonder: its compact SUV is the brand’s best-selling model, with more than seven million units sold since its debut in the early 1990s. As you can imagine, it is a very important model for Kia, one that ended 2025 with a restyle and that now adds the new Black Edition trim to its line-up.
As is now customary with trims of this kind, Kia also uses black as the accent colour that makes the exterior stand out from the outset. In this way, gloss black appears on areas such as the front grille, the body mouldings, the mirror housings, the roof rails, the side areas such as the waistline, the lower bumper trim and the lower body protector.

The Kia Sportage in Black Edition trim comes with 17- and 18-inch wheels of exclusive design which, together with the 19-inch wheels, are also finished in gloss black and accompanied by matt black wheel arch mouldings with a raised texture. It will be available in the Clear White, Deluxe White, Pearl Black, Lunar Silver, Penta Metal, Blue Flame, Experience Green, Wolf Grey, Ivory Silver Matte and Magma Red body colours, all of which can optionally be combined with two-tone black roofs for greater contrast. The exterior is completed with black badges, a dark metallic trim on the radiator grille and tinted rear windows.
Moving inside the Kia Sportage Black Edition, standard equipment includes elements such as the dual 12.3-inch panoramic display, together with a black roof lining and optional ambient lighting. In addition, the brand will allow customers to choose upholstery in synthetic leather and suede in Misty Grey or, alternatively, leather and suede in Black Leather.

Every customer who opts for the Sportage Black Edition can choose from a range of engines, starting with the petrol variant, which uses a 1,600 cc T-GDI engine in outputs of 150 or 180 CV, available with a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, in front-wheel or all-wheel drive configurations. The next step is the diesel, also 1,600 cc, with mild-hybrid technology and 136 CV of power, likewise available with a manual or dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
For those who prefer electrification, there is the HEV full hybrid variant, which combines the 1,600 cc T-GDI engine with an electric motor to deliver a combined output of 236 CV, available only with a six-speed automatic gearbox in front-wheel or all-wheel drive configuration. Finally, the PHEV plug-in hybrid variant is also available, with output rising to 288 CV with the same six-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive, although in this case Kia also allows customers to choose a new front-wheel drive option.
