The Koenigsegg Regera is unleashed in this video with the £1.5 million supercar on the track

The single-speed supercar is ready to reach the market and, despite its price, it has already received 80 orders, which will multiply once people see this video

We had already heard about this mechanical beast before, but seeing it in action at the Goodwood Festival of Speed is something beyond imagination. The Konigsegg Regera is one of the great vehicles born over this decade, the kind that always make headlines but are very hard to see on the road. So watching how this supercar performs is always a pleasure, witnessing it run around one of the world’s most important exhibition circuits.

To give you an idea, the carbon fibre bodywork of this supercar hides a 5.0-litre V8 combustion engine, capable of delivering 1,100 CV. But it doesn’t stop there, as this engine works together with three electric motors that push traction beyond 1,500 CV combined. There are two electric motors on each of the rear wheels and one on the crankshaft, so the traction of this model is even more innovative: it has just one gear, and that is enough to keep the car under control.

Rear-wheel drive is the strong point when driving, since that is where the power is concentrated and where you feel the car’s thrust. The figures for this supercar are impressive, with 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in 2.8 seconds, allowing it to reach 200 km/h in 6.6 seconds and hit its top speed of 400 km/h in just 20 seconds.

All of this is helped by a contained weight which, despite carrying the three electric motors and the battery pack, comes in at just 1,628 kg. This weight is very tight for what the car offers, which also features a very attractive technology package, as you can see in the video accompanying the article, which reviews the supercar both inside and out, and its run around the Goodwood track, where it can be admired in peace.

There are 80 orders for this supercar, which will soon enter production, and then we will be able to see it somewhere, going head to head with the rest of the ultra-luxury cars and making us eager to sit behind the wheel…
