The Land Rover Discovery unveils the Tempest and Gemini special editions alongside updates across its range
Land Rover unveils the Tempest and Gemini special editions for the Discovery, as well as launching new features for the rest of the range and new optional packs

Land Rover continues the momentum from the celebration of the Discovery’s 35th anniversary with two special editions that pay tribute to its legacy with nods to the history of this model, along with updates for the rest of the range focused on improving the family versatility of this great seven-seater SUV.
Land Rover Discovery Tempest

The Tempest special edition takes its name from the secret development programme of the second-generation Discovery, the one that launched back in 1988 and became an icon and one of the brand’s most representative models. As such, with this special edition the Discovery Tempest becomes the most luxurious, comfortable and feature-rich Discovery in its history.
The Land Rover Discovery Tempest’s bodywork will be available in Charente Grey, Varesine Blue and Carpathian Grey, to which a matte protective film has been applied for the first time on a Discovery. As standard, these colours will contrast with the Petra Copper Gloss roof, and for the first time on a Discovery, the Narvik Gloss Black colour will also be available as an option.

Petra Copper Gloss also appears on other exterior elements such as the ventilation grille, the Discovery lettering and the lower bumper inserts. The alloy wheels, 22 inches in size and in the Diamond Turned Style 5124 design, are painted in Petra Copper with Gloss Black details, the latter being an exclusive finish of this Tempest special edition. To complete the exterior, the B-pillars, the running boards and the orientation lights feature the Tempest badge, a spiral graphic, also present in the interior trim. Speaking of which, the interior receives Windsor leather upholstery in Ebony and Shadow aluminium inserts.
Land Rover Discovery Gemini

The Land Rover Discovery has always been at the forefront of design and technology, such as the innovative, efficient and powerful TDI diesel engine it began to feature from 1989, for which the brand used a codename: Gemini, which now serves to name the second of these special editions.
In this case, the Discovery Gemini will be available in six exterior colours, including Sedona Red, exclusive to this version, with a contrasting Narvik Gloss Black roof. The latter is also applied as a contrast to the lower body cladding and the front ventilation grilles, which are also highlighted with Atlas Gloss applied to the grille surround and the Discovery lettering. The exterior is completed with new 21-inch Style 7001 alloy wheels in Diamond Turned Silver, plus the Gemini graphic, a double hexagon, featured on the B-pillar plates, the running boards and the interior trim.

Beyond all this, the Land Rover Discovery Gemini focuses on family adventures, with additional features aimed at comfort and convenience. To this end, it features a cooled compartment in the front armrest, Click & Go multimedia device holders for rear-seat occupants and a three-zone climate control system.

It is worth noting that both the Discovery Tempest and the Discovery Gemini will be available with the 3.0-litre Ingenium D350 diesel engine equipped with 48 V mild-hybrid (MHEV) technology, delivering 350 CV and a substantial 700 Nm of torque, managed through an eight-speed automatic gearbox that sends it to all four wheels.
Range updates and new optional packs
The rest of the Land Rover Discovery range will benefit from the new 22-inch Style 5124 wheels with five spokes painted Dark Grey and Gloss Black details and, specifically on the Dynamic SE, 21-inch Style 5123 black wheels with double five-spoke design are now standard. The Dynamic HSE will include a three-zone climate control system as standard.

Families who enjoy heading to the beach with their Discovery can now choose the new Beach Days pack, with a selection of extras designed for these occasions. Choosing this pack provides a foldable organiser for the cargo area, designed to store buckets, spades and beach balls that always arrive a bit dirty; the interior mats are ribbed and antimicrobial to help protect the interior from sand. Also included are a portable electric cool box, sun blinds for the tailgate, and for the second and third rows to help protect the cabin from the sun and, finally, a roof rack for transporting kayaks, surfboards or bodyboards.

If mountains and snow are more your thing, Land Rover offers the Snow Days pack. As expected, this pack includes crossbars and holders for skis and snowboards on the roof rails that come as standard. Mudflaps are also fitted behind each wheel to protect the paintwork in tough conditions, and finally a tailored rubber mat for the boot floor keeps it safe from moisture from snow left on boots.

Finally, for those who use and enjoy their Discovery on long journeys and covering plenty of miles, Land Rover proposes the Road Trip pack, which includes storage solutions on the front seat backs with multiple compartments for small items. We can drive with the windows open and enjoy turbulence-free airflow thanks to the air deflectors and, when we tire of driving, we can enjoy a snack kept at a good temperature thanks to the fridge in the centre armrest, which includes a portable electric bag.
Let us remember that the Land Rover Discovery has a starting price in Spain of €88,500, while in our country the Discovery Gemini starts from €106,250 and the Discovery Tempest from €126,950.
