If the latest trend among car manufacturers is connectivity, it is clear that their efforts must go towards improving the connection between the on-board infotainment system and the user’s mobile device. So, as one of the main problems with phones is how long the battery takes to charge.

For this reason, work has been done to solve that problem and allow the phone to stay fully charged. Seeking a solution, the need arose to create a battery charging system that keeps the phone’s battery always charged. That is why the Lexus NX 300h is equipped with a wireless phone charging system, which will keep the phone’s battery always ready without the hassle of cables.

The charging unit installed in the Lexus NX300h for charging mobile batteries works simply by placing the phone on the charging tray, and through an induction system the electricity passes from the charging station to the battery.

One of the most interesting things about this device is that, although it charges without cables, this activity is compatible with using the phone. Charging does not interfere with the Bluetooth connection or the Wi-Fi available on board the car.

This model will be the first to have this system installed, which is set to become a standard across the brand’s cars. In the near future, all models with the 4×4 transmission (E-FOUR) trim will include it as standard.

The system uses the Qi standard, which is backed by brands such as Asus, HTC, Huawei, LG Electronics, Motorola Mobility, Nokia, Samsung, BlackBerry and Sony. If the device to be charged is not from any of these, there are adapters that can be fitted to the phone to facilitate charging. The Lexus NX 300h will arrive in Spain on 15 September and will have a starting price of 38,200 euros.
