The Lexus NX range is updated with more advanced technology and more efficient engines

Lexus once again introduces new features for the NX, with a more technological and attractive interior thanks to new colours, as well as expanding its mechanical offering

Presented in mid-2021, the second generation was only just underway in 2022 when the Lexus NX received a small update, which by the way focused on offering advanced connectivity thanks to a new, improved and intuitive system for its use. A little over a year later, the Lexus NX receives new features once again, focused on offering greater technology and new mechanical options, which make it an even more attractive model.

These changes will be visible mostly from the interior of the Lexus NX, which we can access thanks to the ultra-wideband (UWB) keyless anti-theft technology, which by the way will be fitted as standard across the whole NX range. Thanks to this, the risk of theft of our vehicle is reduced, since UWB technology detects the distance between the key and the vehicle, in addition to the traditional systems, as well as the exact location of the key in real time, checking its authenticity and ensuring that it can only be used by the owners.

Once we have opened our Lexus NX, we will find an elegant interior with an expanded colour combination. In this way, the black and white, hazelnut or garnet red and coral red or white (the latter from the F Sport version) combinations are extended to the glovebox, the door panels and the side panel of the centre console on the passenger side. In addition, the driver will now have a neater and more intuitive centre console thanks to the new layout of the buttons.

Once on the move, the driver will also enjoy the new digital rear-view mirror, which now incorporates the digital automatic dimming mode, improved, achieving a better reduction of glare from vehicles travelling behind us. Precisely those drivers behind will be able to see better when we brake thanks to the new lighting featured by the rear brake light.

But it is not only the occupants of the front seats who will benefit from the new technologies of the Lexus NX. All occupants will be able to enjoy the new next-generation nanoe X air purification technology by Panasonic, which helps eliminate viruses, bacteria, pollen and other allergens, as well as odours, and reduces moisture evaporation. Added to this, optionally for the Luxury trim of the NX 450h+ version, is a new premium sound system signed by Mark Levinson.

Mechanically, the NX 350h hybrid version will also be available with front-wheel drive, although we can only choose it this way if we opt for the Luxury trim. Finally, thanks to the integrated navigation, all hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions save on fuel through the new Predictive Efficient Drive system, which optimises the charging and discharging of the battery in hybrid models, and the use of electric or hybrid modes in plug-in hybrids. This is because, by using navigation data, the system detects common points of sudden deceleration to increase regenerative braking, as well as optimising battery use depending on the traffic or the road we are travelling on.
