The Lotus 3-Eleven arrives, the fastest car in the brand's range and the most expensive one that can be driven on public roads

Once again we stop at

a car aimed at fairly deep pockets

, one of those that is destined for only a few fortunate people around the world and that turns out to be spectacular. According to them, the Lotus 3-Eleven is the fastest car the brand has ever launched and also the most expensive. Obviously, of those that can be driven freely on the road, outside circuits and ready to

be shown off at any high-society party

.

It will go on sale in two versions. The first will be aimed at

road driving

, with performance that will allow it to travel on the roads of European and Asian countries. In the rest of the countries it will only be available in a track version, with specifications that will not allow it to run on the streets. The name also hides a small secret. 311 will be the total number of units to be built.

The Lotus 3-Eleven 311 comes very close to the territory of supercars in terms of performance in its Race version. It weighs 890 kg and its engine delivers 460 CV, which extrapolated represents a power-to-weight ratio of 517 CV per tonne. The figures it achieves in this configuration are quite remarkable. It reaches 100 km/h in just 3 seconds, while it reaches 160 km/h in six seconds. The top speed of this car is 280 km/h.

The chassis of this model is custom-built, and to control all this power with so little weight it uses brakes adapted to the mechanics it uses. These are brakes with four-piston calipers and a ventilated brake disc, although in the Race version they are improved and offer more effectiveness.

Let’s be a bit sensible. It is obvious that the Road version will have more restrained and controlled specifications, which will steer clear of these figures that would, of course, place it outside the standards required to drive on the inter-urban roads of any country. Prices for all markets have not been made public, but in the United Kingdom they will be set between £82,500 and £116,500. What do you think of this little gem?
