The McLaren Solus GT is proclaimed the fastest at the Goodwood Festival
The incredible Goodwood Festival holds a competition every year to determine the fastest car, this year the McLaren Solus GT won and ranks third in the all-time ranking

The McLaren Solus GT crowned itself the undisputed champion at the recent Goodwood Festival of Speed during the exciting timed competition known as Sunday Shootout, demonstrating that its greatness goes beyond being a mere masterpiece inspired by the Vision Gran Turismo concept of McLaren.
Throughout the weekend, the dazzling Solus GT in an eye-catching combination of orange and black challenged the hill, being considered one of the main favorites to set the fastest time. On Sunday, driver Marvin Kirchöfer took the wheel and entered the run, completing it in an astonishing time of 45.345 seconds, at an impressive average speed of 239.9 km/h. With this feat, the Solus GT ranks as the third-fastest production car to conquer the iconic hill, behind only the imposing McMurty Speirling with its incredible record of 39.08 seconds last year, and the powerful Nio EP9 with its 1,000 CV and a time of 44.32 seconds, set a few years ago.
The Sunday Shootout featured other impressive cars that put their skill and speed to the test. In second place was Travis Pastrana with his heavily modified Subaru GL Family Huckster, equipped with a four-cylinder boxer engine producing 862 CV, achieving an admirable time of 46.37 seconds. Behind him was Michael Lyons in a McLaren-Cosworth M26 F1 with a time of 46.89 seconds, followed by Adam Smalley with his Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, who recorded a time of 47.40 seconds, and Jake Hill, who completed the run in 48.18 seconds at the wheel of a modified Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R.

These are the features of the fastest car at Goodwood
The McLaren Solus GT made its long-awaited public debut at the prestigious Goodwood Festival of Speed, positioning itself as the most dazzling car the renowned British firm has offered its select clients so far. At its heart beats an impressive 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 engine, sourced from Judd, capable of reaching over 10,000 rpm and producing an astounding output of over 817 CV and 648 Nm of torque. This powerful engine is paired with a seven-speed sequential gearbox that allows the Solus GT to reach 96 km/h in less than 2.5 seconds, while its top speed exceeds 322 km/h.

It is important to note that the Solus GT is an extremely exclusive model, as McLaren has limited production to just 25 units, each with a price close to 3 million euros. It is remarkable to point out that all the vehicles were already reserved by fortunate buyers even before their official presentation, which demonstrates the high level of desire and admiration this masterpiece of automotive engineering and design has aroused.
