Mercedes-AMG has opened a new section on its official website dedicated to its upcoming launch: the C 63 Coupé. It features a countdown indicating that the model will be officially unveiled on 20 August. On that day, the first details and graphic and audiovisual materials will be released. The public will see it in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

At the same time, the performance division of the German brand has published new photographs showing the vehicle during testing at the German Hockenheim circuit. These are the first images that show the complete car, as previous releases focused on features of its external design or -links to the first and the second-.

The front view anticipates a front end identical to that adopted by the most recent models modified by the Affalterbach division. It shows an untouched nose compared to that of the C-Class saloon. The main differences in this bodywork will be concentrated in the profile of its silhouette. As its designers explained, aesthetics will take priority over interior comfort.

The images show a lower height for the roof, whose slope extends to a greater extent than in the previous generation. The exterior mirrors will be repositioned on the doors, the rear overhang will be slightly shorter, and the wheel arches will be widened to give it a more assertive stance.

Before reaching the tarmac, the power of the eight-cylinder V-engine, four litres and twin-turbocharged, will be transmitted through front tyres measuring 255/35 R19. By comparison, the Mercedes-AMG C 63 saloon and estate fit front tyres measuring 245/35 R19.

The imminent presentation of the C 63 Coupé suggests that the corresponding announcement for the standard range of the bodywork, also a world premiere in Frankfurt, should follow within days.
