CLA Mercedes Family Range / versions Salón de París
The Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake will be presented at the Paris Motor Show

It seems the wait to learn about the new Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake will end in just under three months. The smaller version of the equivalent CLS is scheduled to be unveiled to the public at the upcoming Paris Motor Show this October, according to an internal source at the German brand who spoke to autoevolution. The code for this bodystyle will be X117.
Mercedes-Benz took the CLA Shooting Brake to the Nürburgring circuit in early July, which indicates that it is preparing the model for its debut in the near future. Although Mercedes-Benz has covered the rear of the test units with heavy camouflage, it is not hard to make out the design of the rear end, which will feature the same taillights as the CLA saloon, just as happens on the CLS Shooting Brake.
The design of the rest of the bodywork will hold no surprises compared with the body of the model currently on sale. Likewise, its engine range should be practically identical to that of the standard CLA, and we can even expect to see a CLA 45 AMG Shooting Brake in the future, although this has not yet appeared in camouflaged form.
The CLA Shooting Brake will face very few rivals when it enters the ‘premium’ market. The Audi A3 Sportback is a more conventional compact than the Mercedes-Benz offering and, given its bodystyle, the closest equivalent would perhaps be the Volvo V40, although not everyone would compare the Swedish model with the German one for other reasons.
