The Mercedes Class S, from the MBUX screen to a cabin with five screens
We have already seen how the update to the Mercedes Class S will feature a large screen for the driver, but passengers will also be able to use the MBUX system.

The interior of the new Mercedes Class S keeps surprising us ahead of its upcoming launch. The other day we mentioned that the German brand’s model would feature a large front screen, and now we have had the chance to see the rear of the model, which will be equipped so that occupants of the rear seats can enjoy the comforts of that space as if they were up front.
For many users, especially in China and the United States, the occupants of those rear seats are often executives and important figures, so this space has been created so they can work or make the journey more pleasant with multimedia products. Those travelling in the back will be able to enjoy three multimedia screens, equipped with different applications to make the journey more enjoyable.

MBUX for passengers too
In the previous article we learned everything that the MBUX system offers the driver and the occupant of the other front seat. Now we know that this same system is available from the rear and that it has all of its functions. One of them is the Hey Mercedes system, which recognises voice commands and can be asked to activate the various applications.

The MBUX system features identification via a PIN, but also with fingerprint, facial recognition and voice recognition. With this technological addition to the rear of the Mercedes Class S, you can answer or make phone calls, make secure payments or use various applications with the convenience of the screens built into the vehicle, including climate control and lighting.
There are other features that help improve the safety of the car while driving or when it is stopped. For example, a camera detects when a passenger is about to get out and, if it detects an obstacle, such as a car approaching from behind, activates the interior lighting as a visual warning.
With this addition, journeys in the rear of the Mercedes Class S, which is an executive saloon, will be much more comfortable and functional, not only for the driver.
