The MG3 is starting to become available in Spain with the 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 114 CV

The MG3 becomes even more accessible and appealing with the addition of a 114 CV petrol combustion engine to its line-up, now available to order

MG has made a grand comeback, and we could even say that every model in its range is worth considering, with fairly good value for money and a line-up that suits practically any driver. If we want to be part of the brand, there is even an entry-level model, the MG3, its most affordable hybrid, which is now even more affordable because it adds a petrol engine option.

And if the MG3 Hybrid+ was already a city car to take very seriously, it now becomes even more accessible and appealing for everyone who wants hybrid technology but would rather have a conventional petrol engine. To achieve this, MG has fitted it with a 1,500 cc engine block that delivers 114 CV and a torque of 148 Nm, sent to the front axle through a five-speed manual gearbox.

Recall that the MG3 comes with a body measuring 4,113 mm in length and 1,797 mm in width, compact dimensions that help it register a fairly low kerb weight of just 1,237 kilograms. Thanks to these figures, together with this new petrol engine, the MG3 is capable of a combined consumption of 6.1 l/100 km under the WLTP test cycle.

As I mentioned, the petrol MG3 is already available to order at the brand’s Spanish dealerships, priced at 17,490 euros for the Standard trim and 18,990 euros for the Comfort trim. However, to mark its launch it benefits from a discount of 3,500 euros and 2,500 euros respectively, so the Standard trim drops to 13,990 euros and the Comfort trim to 16,490 euros.
