MINI Paceman Electric Cars SUV
The MINI Paceman will return to the market as an electric car
The British brand, owned by BMW, has prepared the return of the MINI Paceman, this time with a five-door body and an electric motor.

MINI continues to advance in its electrification strategy and is preparing new models that will use electrification in one way or another. One of those models that will be revived but with an electrified powertrain is the MINI Paceman. This model was sold between 2012 and 2016 and was a two-door coupé version of the MINI Countryman. Now, its return is being prepared, though this time as a five-door car with an electric powertrain.
The MINI Paceman will take the place of the current Countryman, so the return is expected to feature a five-door body. The model it replaces will move up a category, as it will be larger than the current version. This means it will be an SUV of a size close to this one and will be the option in this segment, which enjoys great acceptance among buyers.

The MINI Countryman, with plug-in hybrid powertrain
The new MINI Countryman will feature a plug-in hybrid powertrain, which will give it a total output of 322 CV, in addition to an electric version. This one will have the same characteristics as the BMW iX1. As for the Paceman, it will be a fully electric model, although the possibility that it may be offered with other types of powertrains, still combining electric drive with a combustion engine, is not ruled out.
BMW, which owns the brand, has formed an alliance with Great Wall, the large Chinese company. This agreement includes the manufacture of several models at the plant the latter has in Jiangsu. There it is expected that 160,000 electric vehicles will be produced per year. The new MINI Paceman would have a presence at this plant and could be manufactured there.
Still, it is too early to know more about this new MINI Paceman. It will be presented during 2023, after the MINI Countryman has already been unveiled. So for now, we are left with the news of the Paceman’s return, and we will have to wait to see the versions and powertrains that will be made available to us.
