The Minister of Industry willing to reissue the PIVE Plan

José Manuel Soria, Minister of Industry, has commented that there are possibilities that the PIVE Plan will be reissued in 2013, despite the fact that next year’s budget was about to be approved and closed, and despite the government’s budget restrictions.
For the time being, the Ministry of Industry has announced that of the 75,000 operations planned under PIVE, around 37,000 have been requested, which would mean that 50% of the funds still remain undisbursed. At the same time, the PIVE Plan is progressing at a good pace and people have been visiting dealerships. The problem is that the approval and authorisation process is moving very slowly, and for this reason sales operations in November have continued to decline.
Previous plans such as Renove increased car sales and, consequently, dealership activity, and boosted the advertising market and tax revenue, so it seems obvious that from the point of view of results “it is a good plan”, according to the conclusion reached by Minister Soria.
The Dacia Sandero is the preferred choice for the PIVE Plan
Among some of the data emerging from the PIVE Plan, almost 20% of applications are for purchasing Dacia cars, especially the Dacia Sandero, a car whose main appeal is price: 4,700 euros with PIVE. Citroën, Toyota, Renault, Peugeot and Nissan are the brands trailing Dacia in number of applications.
With this increase achieved by Dacia in our country in recent months, now driven by the PIVE Plan, the Romanian brand has reached a sales share of more than 2.30% of the Spanish market.
