The most cutting-edge technology is also present in the most classic Porsche
Owners of a classic Porsche model, including the early 1960s versions of the 911, can fit a navigation system with a 3.5-inch screen to follow the route on the satnav, with the look of a traditional car radio but with current technology

Haven’t you ever bought a car a few years old, equipped with the latest technology of the moment, only to see new models come with more modern and practical technologies? It seems that, even if the car is perfectly looked after and fully operational, it ends up feeling old-fashioned and out of style. Imagine if that car is a Porsche and you want to keep it running, but enjoying the navigation technology and other features that are currently included in these supercars.
But don’t worry, because there is a solution for almost everything, and this is no exception. Since many users of older models, especially the 911, were asking for an update in terms of navigation and connectivity systems, Porsche began offering a few months ago a device that keeps the vintage look of a car radio, but with all that technology within reach.
Navigation technology in a classic package
The physical appearance of this add-on is that of a traditional radio, with two large knobs, one on each side of the 3.5-inch touchscreen, perfectly integrated into the available space and helping the driver move along the chosen routes. It also has six buttons built in below the screen. With these controls, you can interact with the various applications built into the navigation and entertainment system.

But which cars are compatible with this radio adapted to new technologies? To get one of these radios updated with the latest technology, you only need to own a Porsche 911. This device can be installed in any version, from the first generation, which was launched on the market in the 1960s. It can also be installed in the 912, 914, 924, 928, 944 and 968 models, so many owners of Porsche models will be able to benefit from it.
Once installed, drivers will be able to rely on their routes thanks to the data stored on an 8 GB microSD card, which will hold the necessary information and can be updated with a computer or a mobile device.
