The most radical Audi R8 ever with the Performance Parts

The Audi Sports department has made sure to improve one of its star models, the Audi R8. With the Performance Parts, it takes on a more sporty look.

Sometimes, when something is good, it is very difficult to improve it, and even more so when we talk about the automotive world, where manufacturers show the world their most radical and exclusive vehicles. However, certain brands know no limits, which is why they constantly surpass themselves, making what is good even better. The Audi R8 is one of those supercars with no weak points, yet the German manufacturer has known exactly how to make it even more spectacular.

Many manufacturers offer a specialised department, which provides exclusive paint services or, as is the case here, add-on parts to make our car much more special. Audi Sports’ Performance Parts have given its most radical models the chance to dress like a true racing car and show a much wilder and more sporting side.

Faced with such a proposal, the Audi R8 did not hesitate for a second and quickly headed to the test area, where it was fitted with exterior elements that accentuate in every way the essence of the German supercar. Although the main appeal of this modification lies in its visual impact, we must not forget that the addition of these Performance Parts not only makes the R8 more aggressive, but also more efficient and lighter.

On the one hand, there is a much more radical front splitter which recalls those fitted to the German manufacturer’s competition models. Another element that draws a lot of attention is the 20-inch wheels, which reduce the weight of the R8 by 8 kilograms while also offering a much sportier design, but the novelties don’t end there. Moving to the rear of the supercar, we find a carbon-fibre spoiler, far more prominent than the standard one, and, to complete the look of the most radical Audi, the brand has included a rear diffuser that blends in perfectly with the overall design.

As far as the mechanics are concerned, there is no noticeable variation, since the powerful 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 still powers the Audi R8. This engine produces 610 CV of power and 560 Nm of torque, figures that propel the supercar from standstill to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds. This makes it one of the fastest production models in the world and, combined with the Performance Parts, gives it a character even better suited to achieving that goal.

Without a doubt, the Audi R8 stands out in many respects but, thanks to these added parts, it becomes an even more special vehicle. The German manufacturer continues to aim to challenge its main rivals more firmly, something that is emphasised by the presence of the Performance Parts, which send a clear message to anyone thinking of challenging the Audi R8.
