The new BMW Z4 2023 gets updated with new equipment and design features
The legendary roadster from the Bavarian brand is updated with new exterior design elements, expanding its standard equipment and its range of optional extras

Since it was unveiled three years ago, the third generation of the BMW Z4 had not yet received any restyling or equipment update, accumulating more than 55,000 units sold since sales began, something the German firm has now sought to address by presenting all the news for its sports roadster for 2023.
The first changes to the model’s range have already been made, as we no longer have the Advantage, Sport Line or M Sport trims, leaving its offer reduced to a single option with greater personalisation options and sporty design elements included as standard, such as its 18-inch M light-alloy wheels or the M Shadow Line black headlights. As an option, there are also 19-inch two-tone wheels that have been designed specifically for the Z4.
More sportiness as standard
As we have already mentioned, although the M Sport trim no longer exists as such, the M Sport package is fitted as standard also in its four-cylinder variants. This design package adds three-section air intakes in the front apron, distinctive door sill trim and a rear apron with a strongly sporty cut.

The kidney grille has also been updated, with a new horizontal internal structure that emphasises the width of the vehicle and improves its presence. In addition, four new paints are introduced alongside the metallic Thundernight, Portimao Blue and Skyscraper Grey colours. Its soft top comes as standard in black, although an anthracite version is available as an option.
High-quality finish and sportiness
Inside, the new Z4 features a digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen for the BMW Live Cockpit Professional infotainment system, as well as sport seats with integrated head restraints upholstered in Vernasca leather as standard. In the case of the sDrive30i version, it fits an M leather steering wheel, M Sport seats, M pedals and M footrests.

No changes to its mechanical range
As for its engine line-up, the new BMW Z4 2023 keeps it completely unchanged, consisting of the Z4 sDrive20i with the 2.0-litre TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder engine producing 197 CV and 320 Nm of maximum torque, the Z4 sDrive30i which uses the same engine but with 258 CV and 400 Nm of maximum torque, and finally, the Z4 M40i with the 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine that delivers 340 CV and 500 Nm of torque.
Finally, among the driver assistance systems included, the forward collision warning, lane departure warning and speed limit information function with no-overtaking indicator stand out. To this list we can add active cruise control with Stop&Go function, lane change warning, parking assistant and parking camera, among others.
