The Chevrolet Bolt disappeared from the market a few years ago and has now returned, in the form of a compact electric car that improves on the characteristics of the previous model. The new Bolt is not coming alone. Although its launch year will be 2027, it is known that it will be joined by new affordable electric models from the brand.

The brand’s strategy centers on growing demand for electric cars of these characteristics. That is why they are seeking to occupy the segment and offer American buyers several models that allow them to enjoy electric driving at a reasonable price, one that is not excessively high.

The new Chrysler Bolt

This new incarnation of the Bolt uses batteries with LFP technology with a capacity of 65 kWh. This allows for a good range in city driving of up to 410 kilometers. In addition, its charging has been improved, now allowing fast charging at up to 150 kW. The previous Bolt only supported charging at up to 50 kW, so this model is considerably more efficient.

This electric platform could appear in future Chrysler models, those that will follow the new Bolt and will be announced over the coming months. However, GM is developing a new battery that will use lithium-ion cells with a high manganese content, offering greater capacity and efficiency.

All of this will allow the GM brand to move more efficiently into the transition to electric mobility and to offer more attractive solutions for American users at a more reasonable price. We do not know how many electric models of these characteristics the brand will offer or when they will be ready, but they do reveal the brand’s intentions to achieve the effective rollout of electric mobility across its lineup.
