The new electric SUV from Suzuki will arrive in Europe and Japan in 2025
The Suzuki eVX will arrive first in Europe and Japan, but the Japanese manufacturer plans to sell this model globally.
In January 2025, at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo, the production version of the Suzuki eVX will be unveiled, a fully electric vehicle whose prototype was already shown in early 2023. This presentation will be followed shortly after by the start of its sale in several markets, including Europe.
The Japanese manufacturer has decided that production of the eVX will be carried out in India by Maruti Suzuki, with the aim of marketing this model globally. Initially, the output from the Indian plant will be destined for exports to Europe and Japan, before later starting local sales of this model, although under the name Maruti eVX.

The information about the presentation date of the new electric SUV from Suzuki comes from a recent report published in Indian media, according to which a senior company executive recently confirmed in a conversation with analysts that this model will be officially presented at the Auto Expo in India in January 2025, with its launch planned for early that same year. For the time being, however, details about its technical specifications or sale price remain unknown.
What do we know about the Suzuki eVX?
The eVX prototype presented by Suzuki in 2023 measures 4.30 metres long, 1.80 metres wide and 1.60 metres high. By way of comparison, it is therefore slightly longer than a Jeep Renegade, just as wide and a little lower. The production version’s dimensions are expected to be quite similar, although they could be modified slightly.
The Japanese manufacturer also referred to the battery pack of this prototype, whose capacity was 60 kWh, although at that time it was not specified whether this value was gross or net. On the other hand, we can take for granted that the production version of the eVX will feature all-wheel drive and, therefore, dual electric motors.

Finally, it should be noted that Maruti Suzuki is currently building a new plant dedicated to the production of electric vehicles in the Indian state of Gujarat, located on the coast of the Arabian Sea, in the northwest of the country. This plant is expected to have a production capacity of up to one million vehicles a year and, if everything goes as planned, the first vehicles will begin rolling off the assembly line in 2028 or 2029.
Maruti Suzuki does, however, currently have the capacity to produce electric vehicles at the existing facilities in Gujarat, where work is also being carried out to expand their production capacity.

Following the launch of the eVX in Europe and Japan, this model should also reach other markets worldwide, although which ones these might be is not yet known. A version of this model bearing the logo of Toyota is also expected, since the eVX was developed jointly by both Japanese manufacturers.
