The new Ferrari 812 GTS is the spider option of the V12 berlinettas from Ferrari
The convertible version of the Ferrari 812 Superfast has finally been unveiled
The new Ferrari 812 GTS has it all: power, presence and beauty. The removable-roof variant of the brand-new two-seater V12 is now a reality.
Based on the fixed-roof model, the version with a retractable hard top opens up the possibility of travelling with the sky as the limit, as the manoeuvre takes just 14 seconds and can be carried out while driving at up to 45 km/h.
The sculpted haunches and their inclination give a dynamic, elegant look that invites you to admire a rear end of maximum appeal.
With a pair of twin light clusters, supported by two twin exhaust tails, the convergence of lines centred on the legendary upright sphinx-like horse dazzles, brilliant and imposing, almost as majestic as the lower diffuser.
The bodywork panels have been worked in such a way that the air flowing over this new Ferrari 812 GTS acts as an ally rather than an enemy, since its integration into the airflow provides downforce and an aerodynamic effect which, together with the pontoons behind the two axles, allow the throttle to be used in favour of this exquisite sports car.

Beauty and high performance, hand in hand
As for the bearing and the layout of this newly presented Ferrari 812 GTS, the mechanics leave no room for doubt: high performance is not only compatible with beauty, but high performance is part of the whole and of the very spirit of this car.
The heart that makes the occupants’ pulses race, and even the passers-by who come across this car, is a 65-degree V12 engine with a displacement of 6,496 cubic centimetres, which delivers 800 CV at 8,500 rpm and 718 Nm of torque when the unit spins at 7,000 rpm, with 80 per cent of that torque available from 3,500 rpm.
This means it produces 123 CV per litre to propel a car weighing 1,600 kg kerb weight, an increase of 75 kg over the berlinetta, with a weight distribution of 47-53 per cent between the front and rear axles respectively.
Acceleration from a standstill to 100 km/h takes less than 3 seconds, almost the same as the Ferrari 812 Superfast, and 200 km/h is reached in 8.3 seconds, with a top speed of 340 km/h, the same as the V12 berlinetta.

To ensure the Ferrari 812 GTS works at its best, it features high-performance driver assistance systems such as the Ferrari Power Oversteer, which intervenes when oversteer appears in a corner if necessary, and the Ferrari Peak Performance, which informs the driver that the car is approaching the traction limit, along with other solutions found on exciting models such as the Ferrari F12tdf, including the Virtual Short Wheelbase 2.0 system, which slightly steers the rear wheels according to the line taken, the front wheels, the car’s speed and the steering angle.
The architecture of the spider or convertible Ferrari 812 GTS requires a specific suspension calibration and, for this reason, the magnetorheological dampers, that is, dampers made of materials that respond to magnetic activity, react and deliver a response that Ferrari is claimed to be similar to the behaviour of the Ferrari 812 Superfast.
A car that will arrive in 2020 and that will be the companion to the new Ferrari F8 Tributo spider at the Frankfurt Motor Show, although the price of the Ferrari 812 GTS has not yet been announced.
