The new Ford Mustang 2.3 EcoBoost would have more than 300 horsepower

Next Thursday the Ford will unveil the new generation of the Mustang worldwide, the muscle car that has successfully passed every test that the passing of the years has thrown at it. The customary presentations will also take place in Europe, and Barcelona has been chosen as one of the venues.
But we have not come to tell you the details of the presentation; we want to talk to you about the smallest-engined variant of the Mustang, the 2.3 EcoBoost. Although the V6 and V8 engines will remain available as before, the novelty is the 2.3-litre unit, the same engine that produces 275 horsepower in the engine bay of the Lincoln MKC.
Now, 275 horsepower is not an overwhelming figure for today’s times, but the situation changes when we see that it has been rumoured that the Mustang EcoBoost would have more than 300 horsepower, reportedly between 305 and 315 horses, with more torque than the V6 model. This level of power matches that of the 4.6 engines fitted to the previous generation, such as the one in the Mustang Mach I, which reached 320 horsepower with a V8. The same four-cylinder EcoBoost engine is also expected to be used for the next generation of the Focus RS.
It is to be imagined that these engines will in time become the most popular in Europe, although we do not rule out that the V6 and V8 will still have their devotees. We only have to wait for the final details of the models we are going to see, but it is astonishing how small engines have come to match the V8s of yesteryear.
