The new-generation BMW Z4 arrives in Spain

We will soon be able to find the new generation of the Z4 at BMW dealerships across Spain, the roadster that I believe remains one of the most beautiful convertibles you can buy today. And even more so now that BMW has decided to offer a four-cylinder variant aiming for maximum fuel economy.

The four-cylinder variant will be the entry version of the model, available in the 18i, 20i and 28i with TwinPower Turbo engines, equipped with Valvetronic continuously variable valve control and High Precision Injection system. The novelty is the 18i engine, with 156 CV and 240 Nm of torque. For the top-of-the-range models, the inline six will continue to be used, with twin turbochargers, Double VANOS and High Precision Injection, delivering 306 and 340 CV.

On the outside, the differences are centred on the new bumpers, daytime running lights and new alloy wheels, plus the new colours added to the model, while the interior incorporates new piano black trim.

The Z4’s equipment is not lacking, considering that there is little to criticise about BMW when it comes to keeping customers happy with the details and equipment. As standard, the Z4 comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, leather-wrapped steering wheel, audio system integrated into the centre console, dual automatic climate control, trip computer, automatic cruise control, bi-xenon headlights, headlight washers, fog lights, electric handbrake, USB and Bluetooth connectivity, heated door mirrors, electric windows, central locking and electrically operated roof.

The model’s price list, which BMW has adjusted slightly to make it more accessible, is as follows:

• sDrive18i 156 CV – 38,900 euros.
• sDrive20i 184 CV – 41,900 euros.
• sDrive28i 245 CV – 48,900 euros.
• sDrive35i 306 CV – 53,900 euros.
• sDrive35is 340 CV – 67,400 euros.
