The new Mercedes-Benz GLA gives us a look at its interior to confirm that it will share its cabin with the A-Class
Mercedes-Benz is about to unveil the new GLA, a model that has whetted our appetite by showing us part of its interior.

Mercedes-Benz is pressing ahead with the far-reaching renewal of its model range, which now includes a new design language, advanced technology and engines more committed to the environment. The brand has chosen to apply this mix to the new GLA, the last of the star marque’s compact models to receive its due update. Just a few days ago, Mercedes previewed the second generation of one of its most successful SUVs in a teaser, but now it has decided to reveal its cabin to confirm the innovations we will find in this model.
As we predicted on previous occasions, the second generation of the Mercedes-Benz GLA will share many elements with the A-Class, the model from which it directly derives. This should come as no surprise, since the same happens with other vehicles from the German house, such as the CLA or the recently presented GLB, a seven-seat SUV that will coexist peacefully and harmoniously with the upcoming compact SUV.
Although the exterior remains a mystery to us, the star marque has subtly revealed the interior of the new GLA. At first glance, we can see the seat adjusters built into the door itself, a signature feature of Mercedes. These are framed by the twin digital screens that house the instrument cluster and the MBUX system.

However, Mercedes-Benz has chosen not to show us the rest of the interior of this new GLA. Without a doubt, this is at least suspicious, since we could be looking at a vehicle designed to introduce innovations that would later be applied across the rest of the range through a facelift but, what could this be about?
Perhaps the brand’s engineers have taken advantage of this renewal to introduce improvements to the infotainment system or a new dashboard design which, as some rumours suggest, future Mercedes generations may adopt in the form of a fully vertical screen to manage all kinds of functions, creating an even more minimalist interior.
Be that as it may, on 11 December Mercedes will present the new and highly anticipated GLA in a world premiere. This would bring the renewal of the German house’s compact models to an end, and the turn would then pass to the C-Class and E-Class, two models that are about to enter the final stage of their commercial life.
