The successor to the Mercedes GLK has arrived, with a new look, a new interior and a new model name.
As part of the restructuring of the Mercedes-Benz passenger car range nomenclature, the new compact SUV will be called GLC.
The GLC is a completely new model, fully redesigned, to offer a better product, more appealing to the general public and more technologically advanced. Its exterior design is much more harmonious than that of its predecessor, in which angular lines and pronounced creases dominated. In this new GLC everything changes completely, and the design is now much more rounded, in line with the rest of the star brand’s range.

The changes inside are also evident, since as soon as you open the door you find a dashboard identical to that of the C-Class, the model from which the GLC essentially derives. The leap in quality and design is therefore more than substantial. The materials now have a better finish and a much more attractive appearance.
Mechanically, the GLC gets a new platform, with a wheelbase 118 mm longer than that of the GLK, which brings benefits in terms of dynamics, as well as offering noticeably more space for passengers. Speaking of space, the boot can hold up to 1,600 litres with the seats folded down.

The GLC will initially launch with three engines, all 4-cylinder and turbocharged. In diesel we have the GLC 220d 4MATIC, with 170 CV and 400 Nm, and the GLC 250d 4MATIC, with 204 CV and 500 Nm. For petrol, for the time being the GLC 250 will be available, with 211 CV and 350 Nm.
There is also the option of hybrid powertrain, called the GLC 350e, capable of running up to 34 km in fully electric mode, with an acceleration of 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. The first units will reach dealerships at the end of 2015.
