The new Mercedes-Benz GLE arrives with a renovation of the ML and new features

On 24 September the redesigned SUV, previously called the ML and now named GLE, will reach Mercedes-Benz dealerships. It will offer a hybrid version that combines a petrol engine with an electric motor, further reducing the model’s consumption.

The new Mercedes-Benz MercedesGLE, the renovated SUV previously known as the Mercedes-Benz MercedesML, has now set its launch date for the Spanish market. It has been fitted with new engines and a wide range of small changes to improve its specifications. 24 September is the day it will reach dealerships, and deliveries to customers who have already ordered it will begin. This new version of the German brand’s off-roader offers greater efficiency, reducing emissions and consumption by up to 17%.

Among the versions being presented, the MercedesMercedes-Benz GLE e 4MATIC stands out as the first SUV with hybrid technology, which reduces these figures even further. It features a 3.0-litre V6 BlueDIRECT petrol engine with direct injection, producing 333 CV. This is complemented by an electric motor adding 116 CV, so the total output of this version is 449 CV, with a maximum torque of 650 Nm. Its four driving modes allow the MercedesMercedes-Benz GLE e 4MATIC to get the most out of the car.

The HYBRID mode lets the drive switch between electric and combustion power as needed; E-MODE allows fully electric driving; with the E-SAVE system the battery charge is preserved so the fully electric mode can be used later; and finally, with CHARGE, the battery recharges while driving and when the car is stopped.

The hybrid module is integrated into the seven-speed 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic gearbox, while the battery can be recharged from a public power source or at a home charging station. In both cases, recharging takes about two hours.

Other versions available for this model include the MercedesMercedes-Benz 500 GLE 4MATIC, equipped with a twin-turbo V8 engine with direct injection that delivers 435 CV and a maximum torque of 700 Nm. The MercedesMercedes-Benz 400 GLE 4MATIC uses a twin-turbo V6 engine, also with direct injection, delivering 333 CV and 480 Nm from 1,400 rpm.

The range is completed by the GLE 250 d and GLE 250 d 4MATIC, and by the GLE 350 d 4MATIC, which uses a diesel V6 producing 258 CV. All of them will be available in our country after the summer.
