Apple interested in the chassis and technology of the BMW i3 for its future car

Everyone knows that Apple is a true giant, capable of adapting precisely to the demands of its customers.
Although the Cupertino company is so far known only for its “electronic” creations, it has for quite some time set itself the goal of building a car. To do so, it has looked to another giant, none other than BMW and its i family.
To make the launch of its first car a real success, Apple has decided to team up with those who know the most in its segment, choosing BMW as its partner. The negotiations are still in a practically embryonic phase, but it appears that the Apple guys have set their sights on BMW’s i family, a showcase of sustainable mobility and high technology.
That is why Apple and BMW have entered into talks with the aim of reaching an agreement that would allow Apple to pave its way toward the launch of its first vehicle. Apple’s top executive, Tim Cook, has reportedly already visited some of the German manufacturer’s facilities, showing particular interest in one model in particular, the i3.

The BMW i3 is the first member of the i family. It is a completely new model, electrically powered, with a compact structure that nevertheless comfortably accommodates four people and their luggage, all with an electric range of around 150 km.
The key to Apple’s interest in BMW is its experience in building carbon fiber chassis, the material from which the i3’s structure is entirely made. Thanks to the massive use of this material, the i3 is one of the lightest vehicles in its category, while maintaining the dynamic qualities inherent to any BMW.
Apple wants its first vehicle to be completely revolutionary, and it is not willing to let the opportunity pass to build its car with the material of the moment, carbon fiber. If everything goes according to plan, the “iCar” is expected to be practically ready to hit the road by the end of the decade.
