The new Nissan Micra completes its range with a 1.0 L engine and 70 CV

The Nissan Micra features a new 1.0-litre petrol engine with 70 CV of power, and Nissan has high hopes for its sales

For a few months now, the new Nissan Micra has been available in the Spanish market and in several others, a model that in this new generation has profoundly changed its styling, now much more attractive for the city car in the Nissan range. Since then, they have already had time to produce a limited special edition, the Nissan Micra BOSE Personal, with numerous accessories and an exquisite sound system.

But despite having a limited edition in such a short time, the new Nissan Micra was still incomplete, since among its possible engines one more was still to be added. Until now, the Nissan Micra was available with the small three-cylinder turbo petrol engine of 0.9 L and 90 CV, while in the diesel version there is a four-cylinder engine of 1.5 L also with 90 CV of power.

Now, the petrol range will be completed with a second engine, a 1.0 L with 70 CV of power. This engine is a naturally aspirated three-cylinder, which will be paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. The fuel consumption figures set by Nissan are 4.6 litres per 100 km on the combined cycle, with CO2 emissions of 103 g/km, based on the 15- or 16-inch wheels.

This new petrol engine will play a leading role in the Nissan Micra. It has been set the goal of becoming a sales success, and thanks to the balance between its performance and its maintenance costs, Nissan has calculated that this new engine will account for around 20% of Nissan Micra sales. And all this despite being the last of the engines to arrive.

But in any case, whether it achieves greater or lesser success will not depend solely on its engines, since the new Nissan Micra comes backed by an attractive design, as well as extensive standard equipment that includes technology that until now was very difficult to find in a city car, such as lane departure warning, in addition to offering its future owners a wide range of options for personalisation both inside and out.
