Opel has finally announced the opening of orders for the renewed Opel Corsa, the iconic model that has been completely redesigned with a focus on dynamic and sustainable design, technological advances, comfort and performance that have made this vehicle a legend since 1982, and they want to preserve its legacy.

Built at the plant of automotive giant Stellantis in Zaragoza, the New Opel Corsa features an updated design in line with the brand’s latest launches and offers a wide range of electrified versions, including a 100% electric option with greater power and range, as well as new MHEV engines carrying the ECO label from the DGT

The Opel Corsa is already accepting orders through the Opel Store, and at dealerships Opel it is available from 17,400 euros, with a refreshed image but without losing its dynamic character, versatility, interior space, comfort and innovative spirit that have characterised it over the years.

Design in line with the Opel Compass

As for the exterior design, the New Opel Corsa catches the eye with its front end featuring the Opel Vizor, emphasising horizontality and giving a sense of greater width. The ensemble is complemented by a larger lower air intake and a sporty aesthetic. On the sides, dynamism is evident thanks to a side line extending from the bonnet to the C-pillar, taking the form of an inverted shark fin. At the rear, the characteristic wing-shaped lights, inverted, add breadth to the overall look, accentuated by the letters “Corsa” in glossy black running along the length of the tailgate.

Inside, the New Opel Corsa features a driver’s position with a sporty focus and intuitive handling, highlighting the new 10-inch touchscreen and the renewed interface and information centre, delivering an experience similar to using a smartphone. The gear lever and the vegan leather steering wheel feature a more dynamic design in line with the latest trends. In technological terms, it stands out for its Intelli-Lux headlights with greater adaptive capability.

Up to four engine options available

Turning to the engines available, the brand shows an even stronger commitment to electrification. A new electric propulsion option is introduced, offering a power output of 156 CV (115 kW) and a range of 402 km under the WLTP protocol. It stands out for its sporty behaviour, reaching 0 to 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds. This option is available in the GS trim, while the 136 CV version with 352 km of range will be available in Edition versions.

In addition, the New Opel Corsa will soon offer versions equipped with 48V MHEV technology, which provide the benefits of the ECO label from the Directorate-General for Traffic. These versions will be paired with a new 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, eDCT6, and will combine the performance of a turbo petrol engine with a 21 kW electric motor that assists the combustion engine. They will be available in 100 CV and 136 CV outputs, allowing “zero emissions” driving for 1 km and in low-speed situations such as parking manoeuvres or traffic jams. This provides an extra boost and greater flexibility at low revs, along with a considerable reduction in CO2 emissions and fuel consumption.

The first units will leave the Stellantis plant in Zaragoza in September and will be available at dealerships and on the streets from next October.
