In September, the Opel Insignia Country Tourer will be presented. It is the top-of-the-range model in the Insignia line-up, particularly within the Sports Tourer range. This new Insignia model features off-road-inspired styling, with a ground clearance 20 mm higher than the other Insignia models, front and rear underbody protection, along with prominent wheel arches and lower body cladding, not to mention all-wheel drive.

According to Duncan Aldred, Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Aftersales at Opel, the new Insignia Country Tourer aims to bring the versatile philosophy of the Mokka to the highest levels of the brand, making good use of the versatile qualities these vehicles offer, which can serve both off-road excursions and urban and extra-urban journeys alike.

One of the highlights of the new model will be its off-road capability, perfectly supported by electronic traction and stability aids. It will be equipped with an electronically controlled 4×4 drive system (together with an electronic limited-slip differential), which incorporates a Haldex clutch and a limited-slip differential that ensures good traction on both paved and unpaved surfaces.

In Spain, the offer will include two 2.0-litre turbo diesel engines. One of them, the 2.0 BiTurbo CDTI with 195 CV and a two-stage sequential turbocharger, and the 2.0 CDTI turbo diesel with 163 CV, complete the engine line-up. The 2.0 CDTI engine will be available paired with a six-speed manual gearbox, while the more powerful BiTurbo comes as standard with a six-speed automatic gearbox.

As for the design of the model, Opel has redesigned the grille, which is now wider and lower. The horizontal bar of the grille features the brand logo at its centre and is sculpted in a wing-like shape, with its side edges angled upwards. A protective panel, in a bright silver finish, extends from beneath the engine compartment, while another panel is enclosed at the rear between the exhaust outlets. The lower side sections feature cladding in anthracite colour, which also extends to the wheel arches. The model will include tinted front headlights with recessed chrome accents, LED daytime running lights, as well as rear lighting.

From 11 July, we will reveal the price list for this new Opel Insignia Country Tourer. Although it will not be presented until September, reservations for the model can be made from now, with deliveries starting in our country in October.
