The new Polestar 5 has leaked!

The Polestar 5 has leaked through documents from the European Union Intellectual Property Office.

Polestar Precept 013d

Polestar was founded as an independent brand in 2017, and since then it has been producing very attractive vehicles. The Polestar 1 is a very interesting hybrid, the Polestar 2 has just arrived in Spain as an electric car, but now the patent documents for the Polestar 5 have just been leaked from the European Union Intellectual Property Office. The new model is expected to arrive in 2024 as an elegant high-performance saloon.

At the end of last year, we got to meet the Polestar Precept, a very bold concept that will be named the Polestar 5. Surprisingly, the model is similar to the concept, as it shares the bodywork and design, although it will lose the rear-hinged rear doors and will feature a third brake light.

Everything we know about the Polestar 5

The brand has not yet revealed the secrets of the powertrain, which is normal, since at least two years remain before we can meet the model. Everything points to the Polestar 5 being more powerful than the Tesla Model S and the Porsche Taycan. If we look closely at the leaked patent images, we can see that the model will have a sliding panoramic roof as well as an almost identical front and rear end.

One of the biggest differences between the two is the driving height, as well as the omission of any bodywork that could infringe EU and US safety regulations. When the Precept Concept debuted, Polestar promised that the production car would follow its goals of sustainability. The car used several sustainable materials, including recycled PET bottles, recovered fishing nets and recycled cork vinyl. Flax composite materials make up several interior and exterior components.

The Polestar 5 will be built at the car manufacturer’s new manufacturing facilities in China. The plant is Polestar’s second in China and will be carbon neutral. The Polestar 2 is built at the Volvo plant in Luqiao, China, where the Volvo XC40 is manufactured. The Polestar 1 is built at Polestar’s facilities in Chengdu, China, which run entirely on renewable energy.

We are talking about the Polestar 5, but the car manufacturer has two new models to reveal before we meet the high-performance saloon. The Polestar 3 is expected to arrive as an electric high-performance SUV at the end of this year, and the Polestar 4 should appear in 2023.
