The new Subaru Forester will make a grand entrance in New York

The automotive world is defined by thousands of things, but if we must single out one, it is without a doubt the sheer number of new models unveiled year after year. The Geneva Motor Show is still very fresh in our minds, and this edition left behind a series of very interesting vehicles; however, brands are already announcing what the next New York Motor Show has in store for us. Subaru is part of that group, as the Japanese firm has delighted us with this teaser that previews part of what the new Forester will be.

The Japanese SUV has been around since 1997, the year the first generation of one of the most iconic off-roaders of Subaru made its debut. After more than 20 years on the market, the brand has decided to let us glimpse some details of what will be the fifth generation of the Forester, a model from the Japanese manufacturer that has always been characterised by astonishing off-road capabilities, something we hope does not change with this facelift.

Subaru made sure to create a vehicle that would endure over time, not only thanks to a striking yet conservative design, but also a series of technical elements that made the Forester the ideal candidate to tackle the most winding terrain. However, the Japanese brand has chosen to keep the intrigue until the last minute and has only allowed us to see one of the rear lights of the new Forester.

If we consider the latest Subaru vehicles, we can see that they are characterised by a contemporary design that forgoes any kind of flamboyance, as they have opted for a more sober aesthetic, which suits them very well. This is reflected in lines that are both robust and elegant, a combination that gives the Japanese models an imposing yet discreet presence. Taking this into account, we can deduce that the new Forester will keep the essence of Subaru intact.

Nevertheless, having seen the concept car called Viziv, we can deduce that many of the features present in this future vehicle will be applied to the brand’s most rustic SUV. This will give the Forester a more modern line but, as we said before, it will align with the principles of Subaru.

The wait will not be long, as on March 28 one of the most important shows in the world – with apologies to Geneva – the New York one will open its doors. There we will be able to enjoy numerous new releases and Subaru did not want to miss the opportunity to present the new Forester to the whole world.
