The new Subaru Levorg is not an evolution, it is a revolution
The 2021 Subaru Levorg has been unveiled, adopting technological solutions in terms of both energy efficiency and safety and interior space

The new Subaru Levorg was presented from Japan at an event that marks a new chapter for the Japanese manufacturer. Beyond the novelty of the car itself, the second generation breaks the mould compared with its predecessor, quite literally.
On the one hand, it adopts the new Subaru Global Platform construction platform, known by its English acronym SGP, which delivers greater torsional rigidity in the structure and more dynamic behaviour on the move.
This construction gives this all-new car dimensions of 4,755 millimetres in length, 1,780 in width and 1,500 in height, with a wheelbase of 2,670 millimetres. This represents a longitudinal increase: 65 mm longer and 20 mm more wheelbase than the outgoing generation.
This translates into interior space of 1,900 x 1,515 x 1,205 millimetres and a boot of up to 561 litres available, split between a main compartment of 492 litres and a 69-litre compartment beneath the floor.
New boxer era
To power this vehicle and, given the pressing need to adapt to the international context around fuel efficiency, the 2021 Subaru Levorg will rely exclusively on a new 1.8-litre turbocharged engine, always paired with AWD all-wheel drive and an 8-speed CVT Lineartronic gearbox for all variants depending on trim and equipment, initially, and for the Japanese domestic market, up to 6.

Staying faithful to the boxer engine layout, the new unit delivers 177 CV and 300 Nm of torque. Later, the electrification of the 2021 Subaru Levorg will allow this family estate to join the range of Subaru hybrid cars bearing the EcoHybrid badge.

As for the cabin, both the visible improvements and those enabling the active and passive safety and comfort systems that the latest-generation Subaru boast include updates such as the large touchscreen on the dashboard and the new digital instrument cluster behind the steering wheel. Given the evolution of the sublime driver-assistance system EyeSight, the X grade adds new hands-free autonomous driving functions during traffic jams, active lane-change assistance and automatic speed control in bends and at barrier-controlled access points such as car parks or toll booths.
In Japan, bookings for the car will be open from October, although the price of the new Subaru Levorg has not yet been disclosed, nor when it will follow in other markets such as Spain, where the current model starts at a RRP of 29,400 euros.
