The new Volkswagen Touareg R already has a price in Spain, and you might not like it
Volkswagen has just announced the arrival of the new Volkswagen Touareg R in Spain, a country where the German SUV is available from €93,195.
Volkswagen announced some time ago that its R family was going to grow, and it did so with the Volkswagen Touareg, a model that enters into competition with the most sporty SUVs in the segment. With this premise, the Wolfsburg firm offered the world an alternative that is not only fast and effective, but also efficient, as it features plug-in hybrid technology. However, there was still one piece of information that would be decisive for potential customers: its price. And the truth is that we now know how much the new Volkswagen Touareg R costs in Spain, and you might not like it.
It is true that the German SUV sits within the price range expected for this type of vehicle, with the competition, on equal conditions and performance, being more expensive. However, we already warn you that you will need a very healthy finance situation if we want to get our hands on a Touareg R, a variant that promises to offer a very attractive balance.
And the truth is that, in addition to a mechanical layout worthy of the R badge, we also find a striking design. Of course, the blue colour is added to the palette of the Volkswagen Touareg as a distinguishing feature of this sporty variant, but it is also worth highlighting a specific front bumper with black mouldings, 20- to 22-inch wheels in the same black finish, and a newly designed diffuser that houses a double exhaust outlet.

However, none of this would make sense without a worthy engine and, of course, the new Volkswagen Touareg R has one. Specifically, we find a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 capable of producing 340 CV, a figure that rises to 462 CV and 700 Nm of torque thanks to the presence of an electric motor powered by a 14.1 kWh battery located under the boot.
These figures translate to the tarmac with a 0 to 100 km/h time of 5.1 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h. In addition, we should also highlight the ability of the Volkswagen Touareg R to drive in electric mode, which will be available for 46 kilometres as long as we do not exceed 140 km/h, the speed to which this driving mode is limited.

Whatever the case, a outlay of €93,195 will have to be faced in Spain if we want to enjoy all the delights of the new Volkswagen Touareg R. With this premise, we find the most expensive R model from the German firm, although, it must be said, one that is set to inflict a great deal of damage on the competition.
