The next generation of the Audi RS4 will feature a turbocharged V6

To be one step ahead and know how to order priorities. Audi has it clear: a few years ago it had sports saloons test naturally aspirated V8s, until BMW bid farewell to the BMW M3’s inline-six to welcome a turbocharged one.
Now there is more to do with engines than simply looking for the best balance between performance and driving sensations. Efficiency, consuming less and polluting less, is unavoidable whatever you call it, and the Ingolstadt brand has just let it slip with an upcoming V6 Turbo.
It will occupy the coveted engine bay of the next-generation RS4. This also guarantees good torque at low revs, the kind of shortcut engineering that makes this possible.
Coming from Audi, I don’t think this new engine will disappoint us; quite the opposite. But its 4.2 FSI V8 will never be forgotten, in fact… it will surely be missed.
Update: Finally, the eight cylinders are not saying goodbye to the RS4.
