The Nissan 400Z, the successor to the 370Z, is already glimpsed in the shadows

Nissan takes a step forward with the successor to the 370Z, a model that has already been glimpsed in a teaser alongside other major renewals from the Japanese brand.

Today Nissan greets us with a bittersweet taste due to the news that it is definitively closing the doors of its factory in Barcelona; yet it delights us with a preview of a very special car that many were expecting. A few months ago rumors were pointing diligently toward the imminent birth of the 400Z, a name that would fall upon the successor to the 370Z. Now, Nissan dispels all doubt with a teaser that reveals the silhouette of a sports car that meets every requirement to continue the acclaimed legacy of the Fairlady.

For the moment, and as is customary, the video only shows us a silhouette, which we must rely on to predict as accurately as possible the features of the car itself. Nevertheless, the physique that Nissan allows us to glimpse leaves no room for doubt, since it cannot belong to any other vehicle than the rightful successor to the 370Z.

With this new addition to the Nissan range, we will find not only more advanced mechanics, but also a new design language. And indeed, the shadows enveloping the supposed 400Z do not prevent us from distinguishing some new features, such as a much sharper front end reminiscent of the 240Z, and headlights with LED technology and a much more modern, futuristic design.

However, the most significant change will be found mechanically, where the naturally aspirated engine will bid farewell to make way for new technologies. With this premise, the new 400Z is expected to live up to its name through a twin-turbo V6 supported by hybrid technology capable of delivering 400 CV, a power output that could rise with the anticipated Nismo variant.

It will be over the next 18 months that the Japanese manufacturer unveils not only its new sports car, but also a considerable lineup of vehicles that will gradually replace the current Nissan model range. In this way, we should be prepared for a far-reaching renewal that will follow the path shown by the Juke, the brand’s latest bet.

This is how Nissan intends to usher us into a new era of sports cars, one characterized by combining the essence of its predecessors with the most cutting-edge technology. In this way, we can also infer the steps the next generation of the Japanese brand’s favored offspring, the GT-R, will follow.
