The Nissan Concept Vision 2020 Gran Turismo debuts in red at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show

Once again, and following the presentation of the physical version of the Nissan Concept Vision 2020 Concept Gran Turismo at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2014, Nissan has unveiled this prototype, conceived to be one of the competition vehicles in the Gran Turismo game. But this time, the Japanese company will show a prototype whose bodywork is painted in Fire Knight.
The car was designed for the Gran Turismo game together with the company Polyphony Digital Inc, the game’s developer. It incorporates all of Nissan’s innovations for competition, scrupulously following the data that allow it to race just like a real vehicle under real-world conditions.

The car took physical form when a team of young designers from the Nissan Design Centre in Europe, a department based in London, became excited about the car they could play with on the console and decided to get to work and create a real model that could be driven. Although, of course, being a prototype, it is only meant to be exhibited and to showcase the brand’s advances at full scale.
After that, they worked on creating this prototype with all the features seen in the virtual model. To build the model step by step, engineers from the Technical Centre in Japan, located in Atsugi, Japan, were brought into the team. They finalised the project definition and moved it forward until its unveiling.
The shape and features of the Nissan Concept Vision 2020 Gran Turismo will not reach production, but they do offer a preview of what a future production Gran Turismo car from the Japanese brand might look like. Japanese fans of the game will be able to see one of the cars that make up the catalogue Nissan presents for selection in virtual competitions, live.
