The Nissan LEAF is presented at Expoelectric and as an alternative to the traditional taxi

Last weekend the Expoelectric fair was held in Barcelona, an event that aims to bring electric cars closer to the Spanish market. We know that everything points to this type of vehicle being integrated over the next few years, but for now there is still work to do to bring these cars and their advantages closer to users. At this electric car fair, Nissan had a significant presence, presenting the LEAF, the best-selling electric car from the brand, which is now in its second generation on the market.

On the Japanese brand’s stand, the XStorage was also installed, a charging system that recharges the batteries of the Nissan LEAF using the energy generated by four stationary bicycles. These will produce the energy that fills the LEAF’s batteries over the three months during which one of these cars will serve as the vehicle for Pallapupas, the clown NGO that brightens the days of sick children admitted to hospital.

This clean charger is part of the e-casa shown at the event. It uses an energy management system that allows it both to charge the batteries of the LEAF or the e-NV200, the brand’s other electric vehicle, and to use the energy stored in the batteries to power the house. Nissan’s proposals will actively promote the use of these vehicles, supported by the government through the Movalt plan, which was activated this week.

At the same time, the Taxi Fair was held at the Sant Jordi Club, where the Nissan LEAF was also a star. Several cities around the world have already included this model in their taxi fleets, so the arrival of the second generation has been very well received by professionals in the sector.

Its increased range, which reaches 378 km on a single charge, and the ability to charge up to 80% in just 30 minutes make it a good option for city driving and for offering taxi services in large cities. Given the traffic restrictions in major cities, it is a good choice for providing a quality service, thanks to its range and other features, as a taxi.
