The Opel Corsa range debuts the GS trim: more sportiness for the German compact

With the recent update to its range, the Opel Corsa 2023 debuts the GS trim, which adds a more aggressive design and a very generous level of equipment

The blitz brand has just introduced a new trim to its updated Opel Corsa range, adding a design with a sportier touch and boasting a long list of equipment. This was previously the preserve of the GS Line trim, which now makes way for the new GS trim.

As a result, the Opel Corsa range currently consists of four trims: Edition, Elegance, GS, and the 40th Anniversary edition, which we presented just over a month ago and which commemorates 40 years of this Made in Spain compact.

The Opel Corsa GS is offered with a 1.2T petrol engine producing 100 CV with a manual gearbox, a 1.5 diesel engine producing 100 CV with a manual gearbox, a 1.2T petrol engine producing 130 CV paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox, and finally, the 100% electric version, which develops 136 CV of power.

A plus of sportiness

Focusing on its design, the 2023 Opel Corsa in GS trim comes in four colours: Karbon Black, Arktis White, Kardio Red and Kontrast Grey. It can be combined with a two-tone roof and, as standard, with 16-inch Hurrican alloy wheels in gloss black, which can be swapped for 17-inch Diamon Cut alloy wheels in two-tone black and silver.

The matt black front grille, the gloss black sporty rear spoiler, the black window trims and the heated, electrically adjustable exterior mirrors complete its exterior look.

Technology and good materials

Inside, the new Corsa comes as standard with Marvel Black fabric upholstery, which can be replaced with Alcántara upholstery at an additional cost of 2,546 euros. Alongside its upholstery, the most notable standard equipment includes a photochromic interior rear-view mirror, Red Blade interior trim, a multifunction steering wheel adjustable for height and reach, alloy sport pedals and a 7-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system.

In terms of driver assistance systems, the new Opel Corsa GS comes as standard with cruise control, a speed limiter and lane keeping alert.

Having gone through all this, let’s talk about price: the Corsa GS starts at €22,849 with the least powerful petrol engine, from €24,749 with the diesel engine, from €26,657 with the 130 CV petrol engine, and from €35,699 in its fully electric version.
