The Opel Insignia is the best used car in the mid-size segment according to the German GTÜ
The Opel Insignia has been the clear winner of the annual report of the German Association for Technical Inspection in the mid-size segment, achieving the best results among more than five million inspections.

As every year, the German Gesellschaft für Technische Überwachung mbH (Association for Technical Inspection) presents the results of the used car inspections carried out in that country. This year, it seems that the winner in terms of quality among used mid-size cars has been the Opel Insignia.
The GTÜ Used Vehicle Report 2013 is based on the results of more than five million inspections carried out on around 240 different car models over the past two years. The Opel product has obtained the best rankings in all categories.
The Insignia did not have an easy time, as it competed against well-known models. However, it remained in the lead in the final results in the two study groups, according to the age of the inspected models. In the first group, vehicles aged between one and three years are grouped together, and in the second, those between four and five years old are grouped.
Opel Insignia: top of the range

The Opel Insignia is available with three different body styles and ten engine types, with manual and automatic transmission versions. There are also versions with four-wheel drive that not only distributes power according to needs from the front to the rear axle but also does so at each wheel.
Likewise, the Opel Insignia is a mid-size vehicle with very good fuel consumption figures. The 1.4 Turbo ecoFLEX has 140 CV, consumes only 5.7 litres per 100 km and emits 134 g/CO2. In some European countries, the Insignia is also offered with the 1.4 Turbo LPG engine.
The diesel range includes the very economical 2.0 CDTi ecoFLEX with 160 CV and the BiTurbo. The twin-turbo diesel engine delivers 195 CV and 400 Nm of torque, 80% of which is available from 1,200 rpm, and consumes only 4.9 l/km with just 129 g/km of CO2.
