The Opel Mokka achieves the maximum Five-Star rating from EuroNCAP
The new Opel SUV achieved the maximum score, that is, 100% in the driver assistance systems category, thereby joining a fairly exclusive club.

Opel has added one more model to its exclusive collection of cars with the maximum EuroNCAP (European New Car Assessment Programme) rating, as the Opel Mokka SUV has earned five stars in its latest assessment, joining the Ampera, Astra, Corsa, Insignia, Meriva and Zafira.
The new Opel SUV achieved the maximum score, that is, 100% in the safety assist systems category, joining, truth be told, a rather exclusive club. Without going too far, EuroNCAP gave positive marks to the Mokka’s electronic stability control ESP Plus, as well as the seat belt reminder function and the speed limitation system, all standard equipment.
96% in the adult occupant category
Thanks to the front, side head and curtain airbags, as well as the belt pretensioners with load limiters, the Opel Mokka has achieved a 96% score for adult occupant safety. For its part, the adjustable head restraints on the front seats help protect against cervical injuries in the event of a rear-end collision. In addition, the Mokka benefits from a pedal system that disengages to protect the lower legs in a frontal impact.
Children and pedestrians also safe
Regarding protection for the youngest occupants, the Mokka has obtained the maximum score. These are EuroNCAP’s own words:
The Mokka achieved the maximum score based on readings taken from the three-year-old child dummy in the dynamic test
Worth highlighting are the Opel child safety seats, which come as standard with ISOFIX anchorages for child seats on the outer rear seats and additional top tether anchorages.
As for pedestrians, the Mokka’s bumper also achieved the maximum score, as it is “good at protecting pedestrians’ legs.”
Michael F. Ableson, Vice President of Engineering at Opel
It has been a tradition throughout Opel’s entire history to offer our customers the highest levels of safety, and the Mokka strongly reinforces our leading role in safety technologies. As always, Opel brings cutting-edge technology to a greater number of customers. We are very proud of this.
Certainly, it should be noted that since its launch the Mokka has received positive feedback, as confirmed both by the EuroNCAP result and by the orders Opel has already received for its SUV: no fewer than 50,000 units.
