The Opel Movano receives a facelift and adds greater technological equipment

As part of its PACE! development plan, Opel has given the Movano a small facelift and equipped it with greater technological features

Opel continues with the development of its PACE! strategic plan, which also encompasses the brand’s commercial vehicles, and which affects the Opel Movano, one of the brand’s most successful commercial vehicles, regularly appearing among the ten best-selling models. Opel updates the Movano with a small exterior and interior facelift, although the bulk of the restyle goes hand in hand with its technological equipment.

The new Opel Movano will come from the factory with up to 150 different versions, although in its van version there will be no variations in terms of available lengths and heights, thus adapting to the needs of any professional. In this way we will continue to find the L1 length for the shortest version, L2, L3 and L4 for those who need extra space, while in height there will be the same three options H1, H2 and H3, the latter with a raised roof.

The differences will be found in its front exterior styling, although you will have to look closely to spot them. The front grille now features a new design that also incorporates the Opel logo, with slightly inclined side bars, while the headlights have been modified to now house LED daytime running lights. Inside, the changes are also few but easily identifiable, mainly affecting the dashboard, where the air vents of the climate control have been modified and it can now feature a new 7-inch touchscreen, giving it an overall more refined look.

Its cabin brings together all the facilities a professional driver needs, such as the seat with air suspension to ensure a greater degree of comfort, although without a doubt where the Opel Movano stands out is in the storage capacity of its cabin, since it can be equipped with up to 22 optional storage spaces that give it an additional 104 litres of capacity. In addition, the glovebox on the passenger side features FlexTray technology, which allows it to open like a drawer, and has 10.5 litres of capacity for storing A4-size documents.

But where the Opel Movano will really stand out is in its technological equipment. Its 7-inch touchscreen features the latest generation of the Navi 50 IntelliLink Pro multimedia system, compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, although there is also Bluetooth or USB connectivity for our smartphones, which can recover battery capacity with wireless charging. If this system is fitted, we can also equip, just like on the Opel Combo, a rear camera that shows what is happening behind the vehicle when in motion, as well as a manoeuvring camera together with front and rear sensors within the Easy Park & Sight package.

It will not be the only safety system we find, as we can also have the Blind Spot Alert, or the Unintentional Lane Change Alert which activates when we exceed 30 km/h, in addition to the Crosswind Assist which uses the ESP and is especially suitable for larger bodywork. To this we must add other elements that come as standard, such as rain and light sensors for the dipped beam.
