The Polestar 2 will be able to improve its handling thanks to the new Performance Pack
Owners of a Polestar 2 will be able to get more performance out of it and seek better handling thanks to the new Performance Pack that we can fit to it

Last year the Polestar 2 became one of the most anticipated launches, especially once its appearance at the Geneva Motor Show was confirmed, creating great anticipation to see live the model that has become the second car from the Swedish brand, but also its first fully electric model, since, as you will recall, the Polestar 1 is a hybrid vehicle.
As you know, one of Polestar’s goals is to create vehicles that are as environmentally friendly as possible while also imprinting their particular sporty character, a character that already comes as standard, but this does not mean it cannot be improved. The Polestar 2, like its bigger sibling, is a vehicle that will deliver sporty sensations from the moment it sets off thanks to the specifications fitted as standard to its chassis, but all owners who opt for this model will be able to go one step further thanks to the new Performance Pack.

The Performance Pack introduces new components aimed at improving its dynamic behaviour, looking in a way to the Polestar 1, and indeed, for example, the dampers used employ the same system and type of adjustment as for the Polestar 2. This means we can fit double-flow valve (DFV) dampers signed by Öhlins, which feature manual adjustment across all 22 positions available and which use different paths for the oil they contain depending on the speed at which the suspension compresses. Thanks to this system the suspension is able to adapt according to the vehicle’s speed and the roughness of the road itself, which considerably increases both grip and control, as well as the comfort of the occupants.
Another very important element in a sporty vehicle like the Polestar 2 is its braking, important if we want to stop the vehicle with complete safety, and with the Performance Pack we can also improve this area. Here Polestar has partnered with Brembo to include new four-piston calipers painted in “Swedish gold” colour with 375 mm brake discs for the front axle, which feature an aerodynamic design capable of optimising battery regeneration and increasing its range, as well as including a system in which the pads do not rub against the disc, reducing noise and rolling resistance.

The last of the elements included in the Performance Pack of the Polestar 2 are the new forged aluminium wheels in 20-inch size, which besides being more resistant also reduce the weight of the assembly, as each one weighs 1.5 kilograms less. All four wheels will come fitted with Continental Sport Contact tyres in 245/40 size, also providing a new look thanks to being machined and their four-spoke “Y”-shaped design, which features a new diamond polishing process.
Finally, to add a touch of style, the “Swedish gold” colour of the wheels will also appear on a new set of valve caps and on the interior seatbelts. As for the price of the Performance Pack, we do not have a specific price for Spain, but the brand does anticipate that depending on the market it will cost approximately 6,000 euros.
