The Porsche 911 GT2 RS refuses to give up and keeps breaking records on other circuits, such as The Bend

Porsche has not given up, and the 911 GT2 RS has set a new record at The Bend, an Australian circuit where it completed the lap in 3:24.079 minutes

The news that the Porsche 911 GT2 RS has been dethroned after an intense reign at the Nürburgring has been the talk of recent days. However, the German brand has not given up, and that is why it is not only seeking to recover what was once its own, but also to dominate other circuits. After this arduous battle, which has not yet ended, against Lamborghini, Porsche decided to head to Australia, where its most radical creation has shown what it can do and has set a new record, which has allowed it to crown itself the fastest at The Bend Motorsport Park.

This circuit, located in southern Australia and, although it was opened in January of this year, is presented as one of the most demanding tracks in the world. Covering 7.7 kilometres, it is shorter than the Green Hell in distance, but its numerous corners and strategic points have forced the Porsche 911 GT2 RS to give its all and once again prove its worth on the asphalt.

The German brand is known for offering some of the most efficient vehicles in the world, and the creation of The Bend was the perfect opportunity to keep reaping successes. The GT2 RS arrived as the most radical version of the 911 and, although the Lamborghini SVJ took the title of king of the Nürburgring from it, the German supercar has continued its conquest at other points on the planet.

Let us recall that the 911 GT2 RS features a tuning setup on a par with some of the world’s most iconic supercars, but the machine is not the only important factor in these situations. Porsche recruited Australian driver Warren Luff to set the record at The Bend Motorsport Park, a feat that has made the GT2 RS the fastest production vehicle on the asphalt of the Tailem circuit.

Under the skin of the German supercar we find a twin-turbocharged flat-six engine with 3.8 litres of displacement, capable of producing 700 CV of power and 750 Nm of torque. These figures catapult the GT2 RS to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds, and it is capable of reaching a top speed of 340 km/h, performance that makes it one of the fastest.

The Porsche 911 GT2 RS has managed to set the fastest lap at The Bend in 3:24.079 minutes, making it one of the first to conquer the Australian circuit. In this way, the German brand continues to show us that its most radical 911 is still very much alive and kicking, and that we will soon see it take on more circuits in pursuit of further conquests.
